But what even are Civic Activities / What can I submit?
Civic Activities is anything that you may have done in your community that may benefit your community (like clean-ups, volunteering, food drives, fundraising, non-profits, etc.), gives you leadership experience (like youth leader conventions, city meetings, city volunteering/internships, any advocacy, public speaking, paneling, etc.), or anything that gives you work experience (like volunteering, internships, career advancement programs, or having a job).
Why should I even submit them though?
Submitting your Civic Activities not only lets you compete in the Civic Rankings Challenge to earn official awards of recognition from local elected officials based on how many, and how impactful your activities were, but it also qualifies you to compete for the UCYF Scholarship which is given out at the end of the fellowship cycle to the highest achieving and most impactful fellows of the year. Over the last two years we have given out $20,000 in scholarships, and we're doing that again this year!
Remember that even if we didn't explicitly list the activity, you can still get points for it! Make sure to submit as much as you can.
The Rankings have not yet been posted. As soon as the rankings are finished they will be published here!
